The perfect pear

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is another card to show you today made with a rubber stamp and hand coloured with Pentel water colour tubes. I randomly stuck washi tape on the Kraft background and used packaging cartons for dimension under the stamped paper and the one below that. I quite like the way this card turned out.

Happy card making,

Monica

Anniversary card

Hello bloggers,

Here is my card to show you today made with the bare minimum of embellishments. I had this embossed sentiment lying around for years and when I tried cutting it, it got damaged so I used my corner rounder to round off the areas which needed mending. The shiny washi tape, yes shiny like a twinkling star came from India. I rounded off the corners of the card stock to synchronise it with the sentiment.

I will participate in the following challenges:

Happy crafting,

An anniversary card

Hello bloggers,

Here is my super quick card to show you for today. The felt hearts were sent my Terry to me many years ago. Terry hardly blogs anymore and I miss her. The washi tape is from my stash and that is it. The sentiment is a clear stamp from a group of Kaiser stamps.

I will take part in the following challenges:

Sending roses with love

Hello dear bloggers,

We were away to Perth and New Delhi for spring and it sure was a welcome change. I made this card before I left with the AlteNew dies that came with a magazine. The textured paper is handmade and is from India. The sentiment is a store bought one.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.sg/ - spring flowers
http://crafting-with-dragonflies.blogspot.sg/ - die cuts and punches

Wish you lots of good health and crafting,

Hello!

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is my card to show you today for LIM  which is spritzing. I have used Maya Mist (sand) and for the sentiment and hearts it is a stencil that I have never used in the 10 years that I have owned it.

I thought it would look prettier than this but this sentiment looks a bit behind (or dated), I feel. In real life and in proper lighting the misted part looks subtle and shiny except that in the picture it looks plain subtle. The white and gold organza ribbon is from my stash and so are the sequins. The white nestie has been popped up with dimensional sticky pads. Over the sentiment and the hearts I did an etching kind of motion with my trusted Sakura gold pen and outlined everything too. And yes, last but not the least some glossy accent was used over the sentiment and heart to give it more depth. The picture with the glossy accents did not look becoming and I had luckily clicked a picture without adding them and that is what I am sharing with you. Better run to enter the challenge as it is 11 hours left for the deadline. Lol.

Found these pictures on FaceBook - so pretty that I had to share.

She or he seems to be saying something here.

Pleasant weekend,

Monica

Hello there

Hello sweet  bloggers,

This is my second attempt to post this card as I lost all the text and the photo as well the first time. Well, this card is simple and sweet and my older one was not too impressed with the hearts I have used around the image. I know I could have done better but sometimes that is how it is. You know what I mean, right? Lol. The image is a Penny Black one and I have coloured it with my Lyra pencils long, long ago before I actually acquired my Prismas. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the little beads that represent the fizz from the glasses.

I wish you a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening where ever you are,

Monica

Cute, cute chicks

Hello bloggers,

I bought this clear stamp in Hobby Craft, London last summer and loved it yet it took me all this while to get it going on a card. Isn't it a sweet, sweet stamp? I have added a large 3D heart sticker in the centre and random gold hearts to make it more interesting. The golden grass at the bottom is a reverse from another sticker. I try and recycle as much as possible, you see :-)

The same picture with the flash on - looks slightly different, doesn't it?

I will enter this card in:

Wish you a happy Tuesday,

Monica

Love you this much but how much?

Hello sweet bloggers,

I am so happy to have been one of the winners for the challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches last week with my White on White vellum card. This card has been made with my new stamps - the sentiment is a clear stamp from Studio G while the background stamp is a wooden one from Recollections which I picked up last summer from Michael's.  I had to colour the background stamp in with my black Prisma to give it more intensity. The felt hearts were sent to me by Lynn two years ago - thank you, dear Lynn :-)
I am going to submit this card for the current challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches

Wish you a pleasant weekend.

Love,

Monica

A Feathery Card

Hello lovely peeps,

Here is a quick card to show you which I am going to enter for the challenge at CAS(E) this sketch and  and  Less is More which is all about metal. The challenge Let's Craft and Create is embossing (wet or dry) so here is my entry.

This metallic paper was the same that Aleeza got from school. I had finished the scrap she got for me when I made the last hearty card. This was her bit lying around and I got tempted to make this feathery card with it. I have used an embossing folder to give the feathers more dimension and do think it looks nice. The sentiment and coppery crystal finish it off nicely though I wish I had used a flowery font for the sentiment. Anyway, it still looks nice, don't you think?

Wish you a happy Wednesday full of good heath and time to craft,

Monica

The perfect pear

Hello sweet bloggers,
Here is a quick post from me to show you my latest card. I am trying to get better at colouring so here is my take. I made the card without flowers and then as an afterthought decided to overload it with flowers which are handmade by yours truly. I could have done better with the leaves around the flowers, I think. I cannot remember the name of the rubber stamp but do recollect that I got rather cheap. The woollen yarn and embroidery thread is from my stash and the embossing folder is one of my fave. The scalloped nestie hiding behind the round one has been die cut out of a brochure.

Without the overload

An anniversary card

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is a card I made a few days ago with washi tape and some kind of floral fabric tape and cotton lace. The roses are from a longer length of lace and the flourish is from Sizzix. It is a single corner flourish and what I did was to snip it into three pieces to balance it with the roses. Even though this is a quick card, it took me a long while to get the positioning of the flourishes right. In the end, I do like the way it turned out and hope you do too.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ - sentiment as the focal point

See you later.

The perfect pear

Hello sweet bloggers,

This is a card I made this morning after really pushing myself. The image is a stamp from Hampton Art and it has been coloured with water colour pencils. The printed paper was won two years ago in Terry's blog candy. The sponging on the paper below the image was done by Zeenya (my older one) in the good old days when she used to love card making. The flowers are from my stash as is the ribbon. The leaf at the bottom left is a pressed leaf which has sentimental value as I picked it up while walking in a park in France !!! I have to add that I do like this card and the colours on it.

I am going to enter this in the following challenges:
http://addicted-to-stamps-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/ - bring on spring (lots of flowers)
http://challenges4everybody.blogspot.co.uk/ - anything goes
http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/ - spring has sprung
http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/ - anything goes
http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/ - sketch

Hope you are having a good week...

Catch you later.

For One Stop Craft Challenge

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is a quick post to show you the card I made for the challenge at http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ which is a sketch. To me it seems a hash of card... Too much, too busy but never mind. I have used a Penny Black image and have coloured it with my water colour pencils.  The papers are from my stash - fancy gift wrap. The purple flower you see is homemade and the flourish is from Sizzix. The sentiment is handwritten. There is hand tearing and distressing as well as sponging here hence the rough edges specially at the bottom.

I will also enter this card into:

Catch you later...

Love,

A quick card for a new friend!

Hello lovely bloggers,

So glad that you enjoyed the pictures I posted yesterday.

Here is a quick card I made this morning for a new friend who has her wedding anniversary today. She is sadly relocating back to the UK and I got to know her only days before she leaves. Never mind, better late than never!

Will also be sending her some Indian food, Indian bread and basmati rice as a surprise since she does not plan to go out anywhere. Apparently she loves Curry as she is from the UK - surprise, surprise! Lol.

Supplies:
Base card stock - metallic white
Heart dies - Sizzix minis cut on metallic gift wrap
Sentiment stamp - Inkadinkado stamped with Brilliance pearlized lavender
Glitter dots on hearts - silver glitter glue
Border ounch - MS
Crystals - Prima
Silver ribbon -from stash

By the way, this picture was taken in my balcony and there was so much wind that this card almost flew down  26 floors. You should have seen my face then... Lol. I decided to follow the kind advice given by some dear bloggers to take pictures in natural daylight. It would have been a natural disaster coupled along with natural light if my card flew down!

Will post pictures of the cards I made on vacation soon.

So happy to be back to blogging,

Monica

For Japan Redcross

Hello bloggers,

I made this card a while back... in fact my ex - design conultant (the famous Zeenya, now infamous because she does not want to get anywhere close to art and craft since she has started chatting with her friends on Skype) coloured in this  Penny Black image some weeks ago.

I distressed the image as there were some tell tale stains on it.
The ribbons, embellies and sentiment are all from my stash.

And I have to share that this card sold yesterday... Yippeeeee! This lady in our complex bought five cards from me and she seemed to buy three which were red!!! So does that mean I must make more red cards?

I am going to submit this for the following challenges:

Hugs,

Monica
