Happy Birthday for a male

Hello dear bloggers,

Blogging has taken a back seat as I try my best to recover, eat healthy and exercise.
Here is a card to show you today which has die cut candles on it. The candles were cut with watercolour paper which was treated with pearlised watercolour gel crayons from India. I do like the effect here.
The sentiment was embossed using a part of an embossing folder and I have popped it up on corrugated cardboard. I have used similar coloured washi tape as those in the candles for added interest. A clean and simple card!

Recycled masculine card

Hello dear bloggers,

Hope you are all well and safe. This card has been designed by Aleeza and the cogs were cut out of a die using Ferraro Rocher foil on my good ol' Cuttlebug. The sentiment is store bought and the I have used a window die to nest the cogs.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Masculine card

Hello peeps,

If you recall, a few weeks ago I made a card with a patisserie packaging for women. Here is the rest of the packaging and it is just right for a masculine card. I have done the red layer with my Prismas.
I am fairly pleased with it. I hope you like it, too.

Recycled card for a man

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a masculine card to show you which has been lying on my art table for the longest time.

I wanted a sentiment for it and finally decided to handwrite it except that that exercise had to be repeated because the first time around the sentiment was written upside down. I had to handwrite it all over again and stick it over the previous one.
The gold cogs were cut of Ferraro Rocher chocolate wrappers and the brown background was achieved with a Basic acrylic paint tube.
The brown paper was embossed and the leftover circles from the diecut cogs were used to fill up the embossed cogs.

I will participate in the following challenges:

Partly recycled for a man

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you that was made a few months ago. I have used a yoghurt lid to die cut the tools and the jagged edged paper is handmade from India and quite shiny in real life. It looks like coal, as my older one remarked. The birthday sentiment is a sticker. I quite like this simple piece of mine.

Birthday card for a male

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is my masculine card for today made in a jiffy since time is at a premium with schools shut for the entire week. I have used my Prima clear stamps for the first time and the sentiment is from Hot of the Press (clear stamps too). Incidentally, these stamps have been gathering dust for over two years. The edges have been sponged with TH salty ocean and the crystals are from Kaiser Craft. The printed paper is gift wrap again and I am really resisting the urge to buy more. Also the realization is dawning on me, that I have been penny wise and pound foolish. And never mind the space it occupies in my craft room.

I will submit my card in the following:
http://oldiebutagoodiechallenge.blogspot.com/ - male card and atleast six months old

See you later then.

Love,

Another one for the bazaar

Hello sweet bloggers,
Yes, tomorrow is the bazaar and I am hoping I do well there. Here is another card for sale tomorrow. Very simple - made with with papers and the tiger prink is a ribbon and so is the sentiment. Buttons from my stash and it was done - no stamping, no embossing, no sponging just sticking and sticking.

Thanks for all good wishes for the bazaar and I really appreciate them.

Much love,

Monica

Card for a man

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is my card to show you for today... a card for a man made with two kinds of fancy gift wrap papers and washi tape.  The paper with concentrics is actually silvery but it does not show in the picture. The yarn and natural buttons are from my stash and the sentiement is from a larger sheet. I am not sure whether I should have stuck the washi tape at all as it seems to transparent.

Hope you all are having a pleasant weekend. I am getting all set for the bazaar on the 14th. I have  made something like 50 plus cards.

Love,

For a man

Hello sweet bloggers,

This card is for a friend's son and she wanted a flat card which she could post overseas without any fuss. Much as I was tempted to put twine and real buttons, I restrained myself to keep it this way. The buttons were sponged and the sentiment is from Penny Black. The papers are from my stash. In real life the buttons match well but my camera decided to change their hues.

I will enter this card in:

See you later.

Hello sweet peeps,

I am back but my mojo is gone!!!

Hello lovely bloggers,

We got back late Tuesday night from Singapore - it is always nice to be there. Unfortunately my favourite craft shop has closed down for revamping so it was a bit disappointing for me but certainly good for my pocket. I met up with my close friends and that was very refreshing indeed.

Here is quick card I made this afternoon with almost no mojo on cream card stock and kraft paper (which was once upon a time a table mat in an Italian restaurant). I do find it a trifle dull and it could have done with a metal charm but buttons and jute is all I had in my stash to fit the bill for a masculine card. I have used my Sizzix embossing folder and coloured in the embossed images with chalk and distress inks. The sides have been sponged to make it more rugged looking. I have coloured around the punched hole with a felt pen to add interest.

Down below is something one of my friends shared with me... It was a photocopy but I could not resist sharing it.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

For Mojo Monday

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is a card I have made with the nesties and stars sent by dear Shirley-Anne (and so much other stuff). Thank you so much for the wonderful early Christmas present. These stars are perfect for a masculine card, aren't they?
I am going to enter this in Mojo Monday challenge this week and Make it Monday which is one of my fave challenges.

Happy Wednesday,

Not just another brick in the wall...

Hello sweet people,

Sorry that I did not visit yesterday - life got in the way :-) However, will certainly do my rounds.
Here is another masculine card I made two days ago. The brick wall and the embossed image inspired me to hand write the sentiment from one of my fave songs by Pink Floyd. The printed paper is from my stash. The white strips on the right are from a wall paper. I would love to hear what you think of this card.

I will enter this card in:

Catch you later - gotta put Aleeza to bed.

Masculine card

Hello sweet people,

Here is a masculine card I made today for the challenge over at Cards for Men!!!
The printed papers are fancy gift wrap and I have used a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Sponged over the car and used my Sakura gold pen on the car to give it some glamour - that cannot be seen in the picture. Touched the car with water colour pencils as well. I have actually threaded thin strands of paper through the shell buttons. The yellow button on the bottom right had a design on it so I did not thread it.
Popped up the car on dimensional foam and my card was ready!
Aleeza said she did not like this card - too dull. And she added that I should make bright cards for ladies and NOT for men. See the little feminist in her coming out... lol.

I will also enter this card in:

Below is a picture of green grapes growing on the garden fence in Aleeza's school. They survived all that heavy rain we had last week.

Thank God it's Friday - yaaay!

All browns...

Hello sweet bloggers,

First of all a very warm welcome to Therese - my latest follower. Thanks for following my little blog.

Here is a card I made following the sketch at Blogger's challenge

The card stock is black and I have used a textured kraft like card stock on it. The printed paper has been hand torn and sponged on the edges. The jute mesh, buttons and jute string are from my stash. Now this could be a masculine card, right?

Down below is the sketch at Blogger's challenge

Tried making a card for a male...

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is a stencilled image that Aleeza coloured in with distress ink, of course with my help and I thought I would make a masculine card with it. Well, here is what it turned out like after I stuck buttons on it.
I used my Sakura blue pen to outline and colour some of the blobby circles - not sure how manly it is with the ribbon though.

I must get better at making men's cards - that is going to my resolution for next year. Lol.

I am going to enter this card in

Thanks for the lovely comments,
Monica

My first card with a digital image!

Hello bloggers,

Hope you are all well and healthy...

Thank God it's Friday!

Here is a card I made from the digi-images I won in May, 2011 from  http://deliciousdoodlesblog.blogspot.com/
 when my card was featured
 in MIM.
And am using the image after so many months - better late than never. They are such neat images - all four of them that I have been saving them.

This image was such a saviour for me because a close friend asked me to make a card for her Godson with a cricket theme and for the life of me, I would not have known what to do if it wasn't for this image.

Rather simple card but I hope my friend likes it.

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my previous post.

Have a good weekend and I will come and visit you all soon.

Hugs,

Monica
